Airport Directions

Coming from LaGuardia Airport:Cartoon-Airplane

  • Taking the Express Bus:

You can take an express bus directly to midtown for $13 on the NYC Airporter.  If you are going directly to the Friday night venue, get off at Grand Central and take the 4,5,6 to 86th street.

Click here for more info about the Express Bus.

  • Taking public transport:

You can easily get from LaGuardia to Manhattan for the price of one metrocard swipe ($2.50).  You must either have exact change (no dollar bills) for the bus ride, or purchase a metrocard at the MTA vending machine.  You get a free transfer from a bus to a subway line, so its still only $2.50.
Find the public bus stop, get on the M60 bus, and take it into the city.  Its fine to take your luggage on the bus, there are racks to put it on.  If you are going directly to the Friday Night Venue, get off the bus at 125th st & Lexington Ave.  Hop on the green 4, 5, 6 line to either the 86th st or 96th st stops, and walk a couple blocks to the venue.
If you are not going directly to the dance, the M60 bus also connects to the Yellow N, Q line; the Red 1,2,3 line, the Blue A, C line, and the Orange B, D.

Coming from JFK Airport:

  • Taking the Train

AirTrain JFK is the cheapest way to travel to, from, and around Kennedy International Airport.   It serves as a shuttle between terminals & parking lots, and connects to several subway lines.  It costs $5.  You pay at the end of your ride when your about to get onto the subway (which will cost an additional $2.50).  There are plenty of machines you can use to purchase your tickets using cash & credit card, and you can purchase a metro card to use for the rest of the weekend at the same time.
If you need to get on the E, J, or Z trains to get where your going, you will get on the Jamaica Station train and get off at the Jamaica Station / Sutphin Boulevard stop.  If you need to take the A train, take the Howard Beach train and get off at the Howard Beach stop.

  • Taking the Express Bus

If you have a lot of luggage and don’t want to deal with transfers on trains, there is a bus service that goes directly from the airport to grand central.  It is called NYC Airporter, and you can either prepay for your tickets online or after you pick up your luggage at the terminal.  The buses run about every half hour, and they stop running at 11:30pm.  Here is the website:  http://www.nycairporter.com/

Coming from Newark, NJ Airport:

There are several bus options to get to and from the NJ airport from the NY Penn Station or the Port Authority Bus Terminal, but the easiest is taking the AirTrain system.  It takes you around the airport and to the NJ Penn Station. It costs $5.50 to get off of it at the NJ Penn Station.  From the NJ Penn Station you can buy a ticket on either the NJ Transit system or Amtrak to get to the NY Penn Station, which connects to the Blue A, C, E subway lines and the Red 1, 2, 3 subway lines.
